Several factors need to be decided.
Passive solar? Will you sell back excess you don't use? Do live where it's sunny 300 days a year?
Lots of questions like these will have to be decided upon before you know how much it will cost. Look it up on an alternative energy site, talk to home builders/contractors in your area, etc.
Also, I've seen this question before on this site, look at the answers here.

many factors.. you need to determine your electrical load first, then what your location options are that will receive the most sun… it also depends where you are located.

for example… a 18.5kv system in california would run about 70-100k… then you also need to consider batteries for back up for the no sun days, as well as for the night time…

it's not cheap to be fully off the grid

some areas offer very nice rebates when you go to solar… call a local solar installer, they'll be happy to talk to you.

Regardless of where you live in the U.S. solar will not be cheaper than the grid. The electrical demands of heating and cooling and water heating far exceed the reach of economical solar.
