What is a simple way to procure one. I am Ghanaian and in a very remote village. The solar power will help to promote my small venture.

If you are unable to tap off the city power grid (and it sounds like you can't) then solar is a good option. The problem with that is when the sun isn't out you have no power and it's expensive. The good part of this is it's often attached to the roof so it's not noticed and is out of your way. At 6000 watts that would probably worth it.

I would recommend looking into a combination system that uses solar and wind power and possibly a back-up diesel generator. All with a battery bank for storing power during times of low production. Do you need 6000w a month or is this a daily requirement? That would be a huge difference in the size of the system you would need. If it is only 6000w a month that could be handled easily by a reasonably priced system.

Some companies will ship to overseas locations so you could possibly order the system over the internet.

I don't know if you have enough money to buy a 6000w solar array and the AC/DC invertor and batteries to provide consistant power in a small industrial setting unless you get a government development grant. In order to get 6000w of electricity consistently for 8 hours per day, the array will need a much larger capacity than 6000w and have the ability to store the energy in batteries. Because, like the song says: "The sun don't shine every day".

I'm not sure on minimum price, try the company in the 1st link for examples of portable systems and 2nd link for fixed systems in the 6000watt range (prices appear to be around $10 per watt of capacity, ie 6000 watt system = $60,000 (and you need more capacity than 6000w), the 3rd link is the *sigh* gas alternative ($2000 + fuel + dirty fuel emissions). I understand you wish to go green even in a remote area and I support you 100% in your efforts … If you can afford a solar solution, do it, if you can't, make enough money to do it sooner than later. Power the whole village by solar and use the gas generator as an emergency back up.

Best of luck and success to you.
