PARABOLIC MIRROR 55.7" PARABOLOID SOLAR POWER STEAM GENERATOR Concave Mirror Solar Collector

GREENPOWERSCIENCE asked:

This is on of our new 55.7" Paraboloids that produces almost 2K of solar power. They are beasts when it comes to solar heating. I hope to do videos with Steam and Stirling Engines to provide a working model that actually can be used to produce some power. These boil 12 oz of water in under a minute. Still testing and will have videos on that soon. Please Rate this video and subscribe to our channel. …

unless they can fit a device to have it operate on top of which seeks out the focal point and then moves the entire mirror to that position throughout the day maybe? i dont know, jsut an idea.. other than that, i think its balogna

A mirror can be used to redirect the light from the Fresnel which should be located outside of the dish's light source path. However this would be extremely difficult to achieve good focal points throughout the day. Not worth doing in my opinion.

Why couldn't you fabricate a copper wire at the center point where heat is greatest ( in the PARABOLOID collector) – have it come out through the back and spiral into a coil – then into a hot water tank to heat water? No need to answer thats just my creative mind out of control again. Surely if it heats water so well the copper wire could transfer the heat to the water tank.

he isn't at the focal point. Its the same reason why you don't constantly light accidental fires when walking around with a magnifying glass. You have to have something right at the focal point to focus all the light on it.

I grew up in a metal fabrication shop. I could help you with that if we live anywhere near each other.

¿ How can you use this? ¿ to heat water or what? Im macking a hight tech house, very cheap, in Spain where the cost of a house is 5 times the normal. And Im a newie and want to know if its is possible to have water and energy in a prefab house whith solar or wind energy to have a tv, LED-light, a work pc and a console. And if it is cheap and no need to conect to the red because it will be a ilegal house ( no money to pay land or papers). Its a protest to te politicians and system.

Dude this is awesome. How much does one of those mirrors cost? or did you make these your self?
So whats your plan for setting those up?

the mirror is fixed so is the focal point. No matter where it's pointing to, the focal point is fixed right there all the time.

Cool dishes. Do we have a cheap way of folloing the sun during the day? May be some photo detectors lile a LDR in 4 places and use the difference in brightness between them on the 2 axis to make a correction signal for a motor? some thing cheap and analogue that works.

Hello Dan, i truely enjoy your vids. I have a question— is there a way to have a closed loop system or nearly so with solar heater panels connected to fresnel lense or parabolic mirror that in turns generates steam to turn/power a standard electric generator and then either divert the steam to be collected as distilled water or to recycle the water back into the loop to go through the process once again? This is a serious inquiry and would sincerely appreciate a response.

Cyberdactyl

You say something in one of your videos that makes no sense.

You say you can use a Fresnel AND your parabolic AT THE SAME TIME.

How? since you have to be 'downstream' of the light that the Fresnel has already re-directed and is no longer parallel for the parabolic to focus properly.

Please EXPLAIN…
